Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Treatment Psychiatric Unit

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Treatment Psychiatric Unit team. In this role, you will provide safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric needs. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to support stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

  • Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients

  • Administer medications and monitor patient response, documenting accurately and timely

  • Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety protocols as needed

  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health clinicians, and support staff to coordinate care

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, resources, and discharge needs

  • Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License (active and in good standing)

  • AHA BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire

  • BSN in progress and/or willingness to obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire 

  • Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, emergency, or inpatient settings

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment

This position has two job openings, one part time and one full time.

Part time: Evenings 2:45pm - 11:15pm

Full time: Evenings 2:45pm - 11:15 pm
