Description:

  1. Performs Computerized Tomographic procedures in accordance with hospital standards, State, and Federal regulations in a time frame not to exceed 45 minutes for all routine procedures. Have a full knowledge of cross section anatomy and computer applications specific to CT. Practices in accordance with Universal Precautions / Infection Control policies and procedures.
  2. Verifies the presence of images and accurate documentation in the Picture Achieving Communication System. Assures accuracy of information provided and the quality of images.
  3. Interviews patients relative to pertinent information and clinical history to complete the necessary forms. Provides patients, families and others with instructions and educational information to complete the requested procedure. Provides the necessary documentation to ensure compliance in a multidisciplinary approach for patient care.
  4. Participates in the on-going process of CQI via documentation, data collection and customer satisfaction. Understands and applies patient relations skills. Assumes responsibility for the provision of physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  5. Demonstrates development through continuing education. Maintains Licensure and/or Certification in areas of practice.
  6. Participates in staff and / or department meeting.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

GE Experience Preferred

High School graduate or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school. Ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and /or certification by the NJ State Board of Examiners.

Must have full knowledge of all aspects concerning radiation protection. Must have a minimum of 1 years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Must demonstrate competency in the performance of Computerized Tomography procedures. Must have a solid understanding of cross-sectional anatomy as it relates to CT imaging.

Interpersonal skills must be well developed. The applicant should possess the initiative and ability to set and achieve high standards of performance. Ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to lift and carry or move heavy objects approximately 50 lb. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours. Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize tools, utensils, equipment, etc. Ability to kneel, bend or stoop to complete job responsibilities at very low or floor levels. Ability to visually perceive depth, distance, read material, and view documents with or without corrective lenses. Ability to hear inquiries from patients, physicians, clients and staff.

Ability to work in varying degrees of lighting for extended periods of time. May be exposed to dangerous toxins or waste materials. Ability to work with dangerous tools or equipment.
