We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress. The ideal candidate will have experience in garment construction, fittings with alterations, and sewing techniques. This role involves working closely with designers and production staff to create, modify, and repair garments with precision and care. This seamstress will support design and research of underwear type garments made from non-woven materials using non-traditional construction techniques.

The hours are VERY flexible, and there is NO guarantee for hours. This is on a strictly as needed basis, and hours will vary on and off throughout the year. This would be perfect as a side job for someone possibly owning their own business in this line of work at home, etc. and wants some additional hours. Hours when requested to be onsite would be from: 7:30am-4:00pm with options for evening hours as well (could be 3pm-8pm during school year).

Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret patterns, sketches, and technical drawings.
Perform fittings and make adjustments to ensure proper garment fit for both child and adult undergarments apparel. Provide actionable feedback to improve product design.
Collaborate with designers and production team to meet quality and timeline standards.
Inspect finished garments for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
Maintain a professional report with research participants during fitting sessions and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in sewing or fashion is a plus.
Proven experience as a seamstress or in garment construction.
2+ years experience performing apparel fittings and alterations.
Proficiency in hand sewing and operating industrial sewing machines.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and time management skills.

Experience with specialty fabrics (e.g., silk, leather, stretch materials).
Knowledge of pattern making and garment design.
Bachelors degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a related field.
