Senior Associate, Investment Banking Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Associate to join their Technology Advisory practice. This strategic role demands exceptional analytical capabilities, superior communication skills, and demonstrated leadership potential.
Location: Charlotte, NC Reports to: Managing Director, Investment Banking
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Leadership:
- Drive complex financial transactions from inception to close
- Lead detailed financial modeling, valuation analysis, and scenario planning
- Structure transactions to optimize client outcomes
- Conduct comprehensive financial and operational due diligence
- Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor junior banking professionals
- Review and quality-control team deliverables
- Foster collaborative relationships across departments
- Guide analyst development and performance evaluation
Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities
- Present complex financial analyses to C-suite executives
- Develop industry-specific pitch materials
- Support senior bankers in client meetings and negotiations
Technical Expertise:
- Execute detailed company and industry analysis
- Perform complex valuation using multiple methodologies (DCF, LBO, M&A, etc.)
- Create comprehensive financial models and sensitivity analyses
- Analyze market conditions and competitive landscapes
- Research and evaluate strategic alternatives
Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with firm-wide risk management policies
- Implement robust quality control processes
- Monitor transaction and operational risks
- Review subordinate work for accuracy and completeness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from top-tier university
- 3-5+ years investment banking experience
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills
- Strong project management capabilities
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Corporate finance or accounting degree
- MBA from leading institution
- Technology sector transaction experience
- Series 79 and 63 licenses
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 25% travel, including international
- Flexibility for increased travel during active deals
