Job Description
Our client, a full-service investment bank with more than 125 years of history and a global platform spanning securities brokerage, trading, research, underwriting, and corporate advisory services, is seeking an Analyst to join their Restructuring / Capital Structure Advisory team in New York.
This role suits a highly motivated self-starter with strong technical and analytical skills, ready to support complex financial restructurings and capital structure solutions in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects at once.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including debt capacity, liquidity, recovery, and valuation analyses supporting restructuring and capital structure advisory engagements
- Analyze capital structures and evaluate strategic alternatives for financially distressed or stressed companies, including out-of-court restructurings, exchange offers, and Chapter 11 proceedings
- Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, creditor materials, and other marketing and pitch materials
- Conduct in-depth industry, company, and financial due diligence
- Support day-to-day deal execution and coordinate workstreams across deal teams
- Assist Associates and senior bankers with client-facing deliverables and negotiation materials
- Mentor and guide incoming Analysts, reviewing their work and helping with onboarding
- Contribute to business development efforts, including pitch preparation and market research
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong technical skill set with advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Interest in and aptitude for distressed credit, capital structures, and restructuring dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize under tight deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong work ethic, with the initiative to take ownership of assignments
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player who is comfortable mentoring and training junior staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required
- 1–3 years of investment banking, restructuring, or related financial analyst experience
- FINRA licenses required: SIE, Series 79, Series 63
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
