Investment Banking Vice President Tech M&A (Global Middle Market)

Our client, a global advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Technology Investment Banking team in Charlotte. This individual will play a key leadership role in the execution and origination of M&A and strategic advisory engagements, working closely with senior bankers, private equity sponsors, founders, and corporate clients.

The role offers significant client exposure, transaction leadership, and the opportunity to join an active middle-market technology platform with broad coverage across software, fintech, tech-enabled services, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions, including sell-side, buy-side, recapitalization, and other complex assignments.
• Manage all aspects of the transaction process, including due diligence, buyer and investor outreach, process coordination, valuation, and negotiation support.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial models, valuation analyses, marketing materials, client presentations, and board materials.
• Serve as a key day-to-day contact for clients, sponsors, legal counsel, and other transaction stakeholders.
• Partner with Managing Directors and Directors on business development, client coverage, and origination initiatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with private equity firms, strategic acquirers, and senior technology executives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior bankers while ensuring consistently high-quality execution.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Technology practice through sector expertise, market intelligence, and business development.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of investment banking experience, with significant M&A execution experience.
• Prior experience within a Technology, TMT, Software, FinTech, or Tech-Enabled Services investment banking practice.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple transaction workstreams and lead execution processes.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
• Understanding of software, recurring revenue, and technology business models.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members.
• Bachelor's degree required.
