Responsibilities

• Maintenance and further development of existing applications
• Learning new technologies and implementing them to solve problems
• Giving short demonstrations to coworkers and possibly clients
• Providing feedback on the code written by coworkers
• Participating in discussions on how to improve our code and processes

Requirements

• A high level of JavaScript/TypeScript and HTML/CSS proficiency
• Preferably proficient with Python, but at least proficient with another popular programming language
• Confident in a Unix/Linux environment
• Good knowledge of SQL and database theory
• Basic knowledge of at least one common relational database system (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres)
• Experience working with revision control systems such as Git
• Desire to learn from others and share what you know
• Value concise solutions to complicated problems
• Self motivated
• English speaking ability

Desirable Attributes

• Experience in support
• Experience working in biological science
• Knowledge of additional languages
• Able to speak French at a basic level
