R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptual Design & Development:

• Develop mechanical designs for new products and enhancements to existing products.
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical specifications using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and refine components and systems.

Prototyping & Testing:

• Develop and oversee the prototyping process, including assembly and testing of new designs.
• Perform mechanical analysis and testing to validate design concepts, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards.
• Identify potential issues early in the design process and propose solutions to optimize design efficiency and reliability.

Research & Innovation:

• Conduct research on new materials, components, and manufacturing processes to support product innovation.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Collaboration & Project Management:

• Work closely with the R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of new designs into production.
• Participate in project planning, providing technical input and support throughout the development cycle.
• Prepare documentation, including design reports, technical specifications, and user manuals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in mechanical design, preferably in industrial machinery or equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and product validation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach.
• Strong communication skills in either German or English.
