Our client, a global innovator in advanced engineering solutions, is seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead, develop and execute sourcing strategies and procurement operations across their multisite business unit.

This role requires a visionary approach to procurement, with a focus on optimizing cost, quality, supplier performance, and risk management, all while supporting the companys high standards in engineering and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire, develop, and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy that enhances cost-effectiveness, risk mitigation, supply assurance, quality, and creating significant value for the enterprise.
  • Establish and drive a transformational procurement vision, focusing on people, processes, and infrastructure for a high-performance procurement organization.
  • Collaborate across functions to sponsor and execute process improvements in sourcing governance, enhancing supply assurance, risk management, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead a direct and matrixed team of procurement professionals, both strategic and operational.
  • Oversee procurement improvement initiatives, develop a cost-reduction pipeline, and optimize supplier performance, particularly in quality and availability.
  • Align strategic and operational priorities across key business functions through close partnership with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related engineering field; an advanced degree (such as an MBA or Masters in Supply Chain/Operations) is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Slovene.
  • Strategic Procurement Expertise: Extensive experience in leading strategic procurement, supplier management, and new product development in a global, matrixed environment, with a strong track record in cost optimization and supply chain efficiency.
  • Digital and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in digital procurement tools and platforms with strong analytical capabilities for data-driven decision-making, cost modeling, and reporting.
  • Communication and Presentation: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at engaging stakeholders and conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven leadership capabilities: (minimum 3-5 years experience) with a strong strategic mindset; experience building and leading high-performing teams in a matrix environment.
