Progeny HR Solutions LLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Hospital Medical Technician (ASCP) to join our team at a leading healthcare facility in Bradenton, FL. This is a full-time position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
As a Hospital Medical Technician, you will play a vital role in the delivery of quality patient care by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of a medical technologist or pathologist. Your responsibilities will include collecting and processing specimens, performing routine and specialized tests, maintaining accurate records, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
The ideal candidate will have a valid ASCP certification and at least 1-2 years of experience working as a medical technician in a hospital setting. You must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. In addition, you must be able to handle a fast-paced and high-stress environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests using manual and automated techniques
- Prepare and maintain reagents and equipment, and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Maintain accurate records of test results and patient information
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- Keep up-to-date with new techniques and procedures in the field of medical technology
Qualifications:
- Valid ASCP certification
- 1-2 years of experience as a medical technician in a hospital setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
