Summary
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will liaise with clients to gather information and prepare detailed reports, including cost planning templates and schedules. You will track job progress, conduct on-site inspections, and estimate quantities such as Bills of Quantities. You will communicate with clients about project expectations and inclusions is key, along with educating them on additional services. You will also research and update estimating rates, respond to client inquiries, and support business development efforts by advising on job statuses and assisting with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with clients via phone and email to gather information for the purpose of completing quantity surveyors reports
- Prepare report templates and schedules of information
- Track, report and present on your jobs in progress
- Preparation of all Cost Planning report templates and schedules of information, including ad hoc reporting and custom reporting as per clients requests
- Support of the team in the Preparation of Cost Planning report templates and schedules of information such as, but not limited to; DACPs, PCPs, DCPs, FCPs, IRCPs and CWFs
- On-site inspections both within NSW and interstate as required
- Measure/estimate Quantities, Bills of Quantities
- Liaise with clients about inclusions, exclusions and expectations of the outcomes of the reports
- Educate clients through landing pages, emails and phone calls
- Give knowledge of additional services to clients
- Research, calculate and adopt updated rates for estimating purposes
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the Function Manager or Directors
- Promote a customer-centric approach throughout the department, emphasising responsiveness, empathy, and proactive communication with client
- Address customer enquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of client satisfaction
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients to support collaborative efforts and project success
- Respond to client email enquiries or direct to the relevant person or department
- Provide the Sales and Business Development function with advice on jobs in the system, referral partners, jobs won, calling outstanding quotes, chasing WOI, ON HOLD and thank you for using MCG phone calls
- Assist the Site function with enquiries relating to booking in inspections, turnaround times, time required to undertake inspection, what to be inspected whilst on the site.
- Chasing additional information and documentation as required.
Required Experience:
- Computer skills email, data entry, excel and ability to learn in-house CRM system, Cubit (Buildsoft) Estimating software
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Drivers Licence
- Ability to read plans and SOW documents
- Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Civil construction estimating experience
- Financier reporting experience
- Progress Claim Assessment experience
- Dispute Resolution experience
- White card or State equivalent
- Strata schemes knowledge and experience in Capital Works Plans
- Bills of Quantities
- Tender reviews
- Conduct and run meetings
- Government Tender Works experience
- Sales engagement and business development experience
