Position Overview:
As a Cost Estimator for our HVAC division, you will be responsible for analyzing the costs of HVAC projects and providing accurate estimates for our clients. You will work closely with our sales team and project managers to ensure that all estimates align with our company's budget and profitability goals. This is a full-time, permanent position with growth opportunities within our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup items, pricing, labour costs, suppliers in Software estimating programs
- Create procedures from establishing tendering prerequisites to the final tender for submission
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for Hvac projects, including material, labour, and equipment costs.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
- Using estimating software, such as SimPRO/groundplan/excel/outlook or similar, to produce comprehensive estimates (training provided if needed).
- Managing and maintaining an up-to-date database of costs and suppliers.
- Providing support during tendering processes and liaising with clients to clarify project details.
- Ensuring all estimates are prepared in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Experience as an Hvac Estimator or in a similar role is highly favourable.
- Passion to Learn: We welcome those with a strong desire to learn and grow in the Hvac estimating field.
- Hvac Background: A background in the Hvac industry with relevant trade experience not essential but preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with SimPRO/groundplan or similar estimating software is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Excel Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and cost calculations.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate and detailed estimates under tight deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying and solving potential issues during the estimating process.
- Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a
team environment
