Job Title: Nutrition Nurse

Minimum Requirements & Qualification:

TASKs to be Performed

  • 1. Screening, Assessment & Follow-up

    • Screen U5 children and classify nutritional status (MUAC, anthropometry, edema) per IMAM.
    • Manage admission, transfer, discharge, and referrals.
    • Conduct routine follow-up, monitor recovery, and trace defaulters.
    • Screen PLWs and support IYCF/GMP activities.
    • Maintain patient records and nutrition databases.

    2. SAM Case Management & Treatment

    • Manage OTP and inpatient SAM cases per national protocols.
    • Administer treatments, micronutrients, and Vitamin A.
    • Monitor clinical status, adherence, and danger signs; report deterioration.

    3. Therapeutic Feeding & Nutrition Support

    • Prepare and administer F-75, F-100, RUTF, ReSoMal.
    • Ensure correct feeding schedules and caregiver support.
    • Manage nutrition commodities and prevent stock-outs/wastage.

    4. Caregiver Counseling & Education

    • Provide counseling on breastfeeding, complementary feeding, maternal nutrition, ECD counseling hygiene, and home care.
    • Conduct group education and awareness sessions.

    5. Reporting, Documentation & Coordination

    • Maintain complete records and reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
    • Document all patient outcomes (admissions, discharges, recoveries, deaths, defaulters).

    Participate in coordination meetings and supervision activities.

    • Timely and accurate screening, classification, admission, and follow-up of SAM cases and PLWs per IMAM guidelines.
    • Effective management of SAM cases with improved treatment outcomes and proper documentation.
    • Correct preparation and administration of therapeutic feeds and micronutrients with proper supply management.
    • Regular follow-up of OTP/IPD cases, including defaulter tracing and referrals.
    • Provision of quality caregiver counseling on key nutrition and feeding practices.
    Complete, accurate, and timely reporting and record-keeping as per facility requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduated from Nursing/ Midwifery/ or any other medical institute.
  • Having at least 1-2years working experience in nutrition program (OPD SAM/MAM and GMP).
  • Received IMAM and MIYCN training.
  • Have good communication skill both Pashto and Dari
  • Should be local staff from the same province.
  • Female should have Maharam.
