Minimum Requirements & Qualification:

TASKs to be Performed

• Provide individual and group IYCF/ECD counselling to mothers/caregivers.
• Assess and support breastfeeding practices, including positioning, attachment, relactation, and management of common breastfeeding problems and prevention of BMS (Breastmilk Substitute) code violation.
• Support complementary feeding in line with national and UNICEF guidelines.
• Integrate IYCF counselling into SAM treatment phases (stabilization, transition, recovery) in coordination with medical staff at IPD SAM sites.
• Deliver discharge counselling and link caregivers to outpatient and community-based nutrition services.
• Regular sharing of weekly/monthly reports.
• Support nutrition under five screening in OPD SAM services and referral and triage.
• Nutrition Growth Monitoring and promotion services for children under two years old
• Support nutrition ECD activities in OPD and IPD SAM services.

  • IYCF and breastfeeding counselling provided to caregivers of all eligible SAM cases admitted to IPD.
  • Breast-feeding assessment and hands-on support conducted, including re-lactation where needed.
  • IYCF counselling is integrated into all phases of SAM treatment (stabilization, transition, recovery).
  • Discharge counselling completed and referrals made to outpatient and community nutrition services.
  • Accurate counselling and follow-up records maintained, and reports submitted on time.
  • Nutrition GMP services are provided to children under 2 years old
  • Nutrition ECD services are provided to the targeted children.

Requirements

• Graduated from Nursing/ Midwifery/ or any other medical institute.
• Having at least 1-2years working experience in nutrition program (OPD SAM/MAM and GMP).
• Received IMAM and MIYCN training.
• Have good communication skill both Pashto and Dari
• Should be local staff from the same province.
• Female should have Maharam.
