Job Overview:

The Lab Engineer – Raw Material Evaluation is responsible for supervising and executing all raw material testing activities to ensure the quality of chemicals and polymers used in production. The role includes performing daily tests, maintaining lab instruments, training lab staff, coordinating material approvals, and preparing QC reports. The Lab Engineer ensures that all raw materials meet the companys quality standards and supports procurement and production teams with accurate evaluation data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead raw material testing operations, including MFI, dispersion, color measurement, melt index, moisture, and other necessary tests.
  • Approve incoming raw materials based on test results and specifications.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments, conduct calibrations, and ensure proper functioning.
  • Train, guide, and supervise lab staff to ensure accurate and timely testing.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and internal teams for material approvals.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Raw Material QC reports.
  • Report deviations and non-conformances to Procurement and Management.
  • Support continuous improvement in testing procedures and laboratory practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Polymer Engineering (B.E.) or related discipline.
  • Experience: 1–2 years in plastic masterbatch, polymer, or chemical industry, preferably in R&D, QC, or Raw Material Evaluation.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge of polymer testing methods, laboratory operations, and data analysis. Good communication, attention to detail, and team supervision skills.
