Minimum Qualification and Experience: 

  • Must be a doctor having medical degree form recognized university.
  • Having at least 3-4 years working experience in nutrition program (IMAM, MIYNC)
  • Have the capacity to provide technical support and training to the HF staff
  • Have good communication skills and report writing skills (speak English, Pashto and Dari languages)
  • Ability to travel to the remote are within the mentioned locations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse group of individuals.
  • Fluency in local languages is mandatory
  • Female should have Maharam

Tasks to Perform: 

  • Planning, implementation and supervising the nutrition program across the high caseload HFs in Nangarhar, Kunar and Laghman provinces.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with partners including HER implementers for program improvement and staff capacity building.
  • Lead overall implementation of IMAM, GMP and strengthen community referrals through community screener in area of returnees and drought affected.
  • Ensure overall timely and quality of the Nutrition Program implementation in the targeted HFs.
  • Strengthen community components for both IMAM and MIYCN throughout Community based nutrition program in catchment area of the targeted HFs.
  • Work closely with nutrition technical extenders in each province by sharing his/her plan and report the finding.
  • Work with HFs staff (Nutrition Nurse, Nutrition Counselor, and community screener) to improve nutrition program quality and sustainability.
  • Participate in all nutrition technical meetings (NPC, CBNP) to which he/she will be assigned (by UNICEF nutrition team) including sub-national nutrition cluster.
  • Proper and timely management of supply chain management in the targeted HFs to ensure no breakdown in supplies.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports as per the work plan and provide recommendations to address issues and concerns encountered within the previous reporting period.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as discussed with his/her supervisor deemed necessary for the implementation of the program
