About the Role
Proactive Projects is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a significant portfolio of Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) capital projects at a Tier 1 gold mining operation.
This role offers exposure to a diverse range of surface infrastructure projects that are critical to ongoing operations and future site growth. Initially offered as a 3-month contractor engagement, there is a strong intention for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent position, subject to internal approvals.
Working closely with an experienced project leadership team, you will gain hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle while developing your capability within a large-scale capital delivery environment.
Project Portfolio
You will support the delivery of a variety of electrical capital projects, including:
- Village refurbishment and infrastructure upgrades
- Aerodrome and associated infrastructure improvements
- Water treatment and distribution projects
- Fuel farm infrastructure upgrades
- Site services and utilities projects
- Development of a major warehouse facility valued at approximately $60 million
- Sustaining capital projects supporting ongoing site operations
With a substantial capital investment program underway, this role presents an excellent opportunity to build long-term project delivery experience within a Tier 1 mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will:
- Support the delivery of electrical capital projects from initiation through to commissioning and handover
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and site stakeholders to achieve project objectives
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution activities
- Monitor project progress against scope, cost, and schedule requirements
- Participate in risk assessments and support the implementation of mitigation strategies
- Review technical documentation, drawings, and contractor deliverables
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with safety, quality, and statutory requirements
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with operations, maintenance, and project teams
- Contribute to project reporting and governance requirements
About You
You are an Electrical Engineer looking to further develop your project delivery experience within the mining sector.
You will demonstrate:
- 3–5 years' experience in electrical engineering and project delivery environments
- Exposure to capital projects within mining, resources, utilities, or heavy industry
- Understanding of the capital project lifecycle from planning through to execution
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to professional growth

Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Full Australian working rights
