About the Role

Proactive Projects is seeking an experienced Civil Project Coordinator to support a major mining operation across a portfolio of road infrastructure, remediation, and civil maintenance works.

This role will combine project coordination, contractor engagement, budget management, and field leadership support across several active civil programs. You will work closely with Supervisors, Engineers, and operational stakeholders to ensure works are scoped, packaged, planned, and delivered efficiently.

Key projects include:

  • Administration road upgrade works (~$3.2M)
  • Haul truck crossing upgrade over a major highway (~$1.2M)

  • Ongoing civil maintenance activities including road repairs, drainage, airport runway repairs, line marking, and infrastructure upkeep

This is a practical coordination role suited to someone who can operate confidently between office planning and field execution environments.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate civil infrastructure and remediation projects from planning through to tender readiness
  • Develop work packs and compile tenderable construction packages
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking activities
  • Support and coordinate two civil supervisors and site crews across multiple work fronts
  • Supervise work fronts when other supervisors are unavailable
  • Ensure supervisors are provided with planned work packs and medium-term schedules
  • Maintain forward planning and budget visibility across ongoing works programs
  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and operational stakeholders to progress project delivery
  • Assist with contractor coordination, procurement activities, and project reporting
  • Support practical site execution activities when required
What We're Looking For

You are a practical and organised civil professional who can confidently manage both planning and field coordination responsibilities.

You will demonstrate:

  • Experience coordinating civil construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong budget management and cost tracking capability
  • Ability to develop work packs and compile tender-ready work packages
  • Practical understanding of roads, drainage, remediation, or mining infrastructure works
  • Experience supervising civil projects
  • Strong communication skills across supervisors, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work both in the field and within office/project planning environments
  • Strong computer literacy and project coordination capability

Candidates with either practical civil construction backgrounds or engineering experience are encouraged to apply, provided they have strong operational understanding and stakeholder management capability.

Engagement Details
  • Initial 6-month engagement with strong potential for extension
  • Flexible FIFO roster options available (4/3, potentially 7/7)
  • Flights available from Cairns, Darwin, Brisbane, depending on roster alignment
  • Opportunity to support both project delivery and ongoing operational civil programs
