Diesel Mechanic Earth Moving Equipment

Experience:

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the maintenance and repair of earth-moving equipment.
• Familiarity with various diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems used in heavy equipment.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components.
• Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses.
• Competence in repairing and replacing transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other mechanical components.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools and software used in modern equipment maintenance.

Safety Compliance:

• Understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to working on heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and practices.

Communication Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
• Ability to provide clear explanations of repair procedures and maintenance recommendations to non-technical personnel.

Problem-Solving Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.

Certifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Preferably Red Seal Trade Certification
