About the job Learning and Development Specialist
Our Retail Client is on the hunt for a Learning and development Specialist, to drive the objectives of the company. Responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating training programs to enhance employees skills, knowledge and performance.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs for retail employees, including onboarding, product knowledge, customer service, and leadership development.
- Assess training needs through surveys, observations, and performance metrics to identify skill gaps.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for store associates, managers, and support staff.
- Collaborate with department heads to create customized learning solutions that align with business goals.
- Develop e-learning modules, training manuals, and other instructional materials.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements based on feedback and performance results.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and compliance requirements in retail learning and development.
- Support employee engagement and career development initiatives.
- Manage training logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Provide coaching and mentorship to employees to support their professional growth.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
5 + years relevant experience
Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills Development Facilitation Course by ETDP
Assessor Certification By ETDP (essential)
Train the Trainer Certification
OPETDP Diploma and Registered SDF
Previous experience in Retail Industry
Microsoft Office Efficiency and basic skills
