A European digital bank with full regulatory licensing is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) (m/f/d) to lead the organization into its next phase of innovation and growth. Operating at the crossroads of banking and technology, the bank delivers API-first infrastructure and embedded financial solutions to business partners across Europe.

With a strong foundation in compliance and digital capability, the bank is looking for a leader who can drive strategic transformation, scale operations, and position the organization as a trusted enabler of next-generation financial services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a forward-looking strategy to strengthen the banks position within the European fintech ecosystem
  • Lead the digital transformation journey, focusing on scalable, API-based banking services and product innovation
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance while maintaining operational efficiency and agility
  • Serve as the primary representative to supervisory authorities, key partners, investors, and the board
  • Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels
  • Expand strategic partnerships and drive long-term business development
  • Oversee risk management frameworks and governance in alignment with European banking standards
  • Manage crisis scenarios effectively, ensuring institutional stability and reputation
Key Requirements
  • At least 15 years of leadership experience in banking, fintech, or financial infrastructure
  • Experience at CEO or C-level (or one level below) with a proven record in strategic and operational transformation
  • Deep knowledge of digital banking, embedded finance, and platform-based business models
  • Strong familiarity with European regulatory environments (e.g. BaFin, ECB, PSD2)
  • Demonstrated success in managing change, building high-performing teams, and scaling financial operations
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills and the ability to lead in dynamic, fast-moving environments
  • Fluent in English; German is highly advantageous
