We are looking for a highly motivated M&A Associate to join our expanding investment team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work across a broad range of investment and M&A projects, gain exposure to different industries, and contribute to investment decisions and strategic initiatives.

Our client is a reputable investment firm based in Kazakhstan, with strong expertise in M&A, investments, and portfolio company management.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in M&A and investment projects across various industries, including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and investments in private companies.
  • Conduct financial analysis, company valuations, financial modeling, and comparable company and transaction analysis.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess investment opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Conduct market, industry, and company research to identify investment opportunities and assess business fundamentals.
  • Prepare investment analyses, presentations, company profiles, and other materials to support internal decision-making.
  • Evaluate business plans, financial performance, growth prospects, and key investment risks.
  • Support due diligence processes by analyzing financial, operational, commercial, and other relevant information.
  • Assist with the assessment and structuring of potential investments and M&A opportunities.
  • Support senior team members throughout the investment process, from initial analysis through transaction completion.
  • Work with portfolio companies and external advisors on selected strategic and financial projects.
  • Contribute to post-investment analysis and monitoring of portfolio company performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field from a reputable university; CFA certification or progress toward CFA is a plus.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in M&A, investment management, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, transaction advisory, or a related field within an investment firm, investment bank, Big 4, or corporate M&A / strategy team.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, corporate finance, and accounting principles.
  • Experience in assessing companies and investment opportunities, including financial statement analysis and valuation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commercial mindset and ability to assess both financial and strategic aspects of an investment opportunity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Russian is essential; knowledge of Kazakh is an advantage.
  • International academic or professional experience is highly valued.
