An investment firm is looking for an Investment Director / Vice President to further strengthen its M&A execution capabilities, with a particular focus on Metals & Mining transactions across the CIS.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transactions throughout the full deal lifecycle, from initial preparation and analysis through execution and closing. The role requires strong ownership of key workstreams, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, clients, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of M&A transactions in the Metals & Mining sector from initial preparation through closing
- Take full ownership of financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials, including their review and final validation
- Lead and develop deal teams, ensuring high-quality execution while providing direction, feedback, and mentorship to Analysts and Senior Associates
- Manage several active mandates simultaneously, overseeing timelines, team resources, deliverables, and communication with clients and external advisors
- Coordinate the execution of cross-border transactions, including relevant regulatory and compliance requirements
- Serve as the firm's representative at Board level in selected portfolio companies, supporting strategic direction, governance, and key business decisions
Key Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant M&A experience gained in investment banking, Big 4, in-house M&A, or corporate development, with substantial exposure to the Metals & Mining sector
- Demonstrated track record of successfully completed transactions
Mandatory: candidates must provide a detailed list of completed deals, specifying transaction size, type, geography, and their individual role and responsibilities
- Strong expertise in financial modeling and valuation, with the ability to independently review, assess, and challenge complex models
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, transaction structuring, and M&A processes
- Proven experience managing deal teams and coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline with a strong finance component
- CFA or comparable professional qualification would be an advantage
- Full professional proficiency in Russian and English
