About the job Marketplace Business Development Manager, B2B Sales (m/f/x)
On behalf of our client, a fast-growing German online marketplace, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their Berlin team. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the CEO, with real ownership, visibility and room to shape the function. The company connects consumers with products through a modern, technology-driven platform and is scaling rapidly across the German market.
As the role is highly focused on developing partnerships across Germany, strong German language skills (C1 level) are essential, enabling you to engage confidently with decision-makers and navigate the local market effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an effective sales strategy to win new partners, including active outreach, pitching and closing
- Advise clients on marketplace and retail-media solutions and build tailored offers across the full sales funnel
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, and continuously grow existing accounts
- Analyse market and competitive trends to identify new business opportunities and shape the commercial offering
Profile
Several years (2-3+) of experience in sales, business development or key account management
- Experience with a marketplace business model; e-commerce / digital experience in a related field is a strong plus
- Proven track record of owning the full deal cycle, from lead generation to close, with concrete results (deals signed, contribution to revenue growth, market expansion)
Genuine hunter mentality, confident presence and strong communication skills
- Business-fluent / near-native German is essential, paired with solid knowledge of the German market, professional English for working in an international team
Analytical mindset for assessing market opportunities and commercial risk
