As a Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for providing efficient and high-quality laundry services to ensure clean and well-maintained linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will play a crucial role in contributing to a positive guest experience and the overall success of our hotel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry according to established procedures and guidelines.
  2. Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  3. Handle stained or damaged items appropriately, following specific treatment procedures or seeking guidance from the Laundry Supervisor.
  4. Check and record laundry equipment settings, such as water and detergent levels, to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Inspect finished laundry items to ensure they meet quality standards, are free of wrinkles and stains, and are properly folded and presented.
  6. Handle guests' personal laundry requests promptly, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry area, including keeping the workspaces and laundry machines clean and organized.
  8. Sort and distribute clean linens and uniforms to the appropriate hotel departments as per the established par levels.
  9. Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the Laundry Supervisor or maintenance team for prompt resolution.
  10. Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment by using proper lifting techniques and handling chemicals appropriately.
  11. Assist with linen inventory management, conducting periodic counts and reporting discrepancies to the Laundry Supervisor.
  12. Collaborate with other housekeeping team members to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication between departments.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel, resort, or hospitality setting, is an advantage but not required.
  2. Basic understanding of laundry procedures, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing.
  3. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  5. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  6. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards teamwork and guest service.
  7. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy laundry items for extended periods.
  8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to laundry operations is an advantage.
