The Hotel Electromechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing the electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within the hotel. This role ensures the smooth operation of equipment and systems to provide a comfortable and functional environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including lighting, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, and ventilation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions promptly.
- Monitor the performance of equipment such as elevators, escalators, generators, water pumps, and fire safety systems.
- Ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure longevity.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacement parts.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, water leaks, and HVAC failures, with a sense of urgency to mitigate disruptions and safety risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to address emergency situations effectively.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, regulations, and best practices related to electromechanical systems and building maintenance.
- Make recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, or improvements to enhance efficiency and guest comfort.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on electrical and mechanical systems
- Ensure that all systems meet safety standards and are in compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for repairs and replacements.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Work closely with other hotel departments, such as engineering, housekeeping, and front desk, to address maintenance-related issues and guest requests.
- Communicate effectively to keep relevant parties informed of maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electromechanical systems or related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems are a plus.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or electromechanical role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building codes.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, guests, and other departments.
