The Hotel Electromechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing the electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within the hotel. This role ensures the smooth operation of equipment and systems to provide a comfortable and functional environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, including lighting, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, and ventilation.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions promptly.
  3. Monitor the performance of equipment such as elevators, escalators, generators, water pumps, and fire safety systems.
  4. Ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
  5. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure longevity.
  6. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacement parts.
  7. Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, water leaks, and HVAC failures, with a sense of urgency to mitigate disruptions and safety risks.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to address emergency situations effectively.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, codes, regulations, and best practices related to electromechanical systems and building maintenance.
  10. Make recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, or improvements to enhance efficiency and guest comfort.
  11. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on electrical and mechanical systems
  12. Ensure that all systems meet safety standards and are in compliance with local regulations.
  13. Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for repairs and replacements.
  14. Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  15. Work closely with other hotel departments, such as engineering, housekeeping, and front desk, to address maintenance-related issues and guest requests.
  16. Communicate effectively to keep relevant parties informed of maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electromechanical systems or related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or electromechanical role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members, guests, and other departments.
