About the job Bar Manager
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the bar's daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, including bartenders, baristas, and servers. Set performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
- Work closely with the Food and Beverage Director and the culinary team to develop a diverse and enticing beverage menu.
- Source and select high-quality spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages that align with the hotel's brand and target market.
- Implement efficient inventory control systems to monitor stock levels, minimize wastage, and ensure timely replenishment.
- Develop and manage budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction.
- Prepare regular financial reports and present findings to management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience (typically 3+ years) in bar management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Extensive knowledge of beverage preparation, mixology, and current industry trends.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle guest concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Proficient in bar and inventory management software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and suppliers.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
- Knowledge of local licensing laws, alcohol regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet the demands of the business.
