About the job Bar Manager

Responsibilities:

  1.  Manage all aspects of the bar's daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

  2. Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, including bartenders, baristas, and servers. Set performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities. 
  3.  Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
  4. Work closely with the Food and Beverage Director and the culinary team to develop a diverse and enticing beverage menu.
  5. Source and select high-quality spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages that align with the hotel's brand and target market. 
  6. Implement efficient inventory control systems to monitor stock levels, minimize wastage, and ensure timely replenishment.
  7. Develop and manage budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction. 
  8. Prepare regular financial reports and present findings to management.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage, or a related field is an advantage.

  2. Previous experience (typically 3+ years) in bar management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.

  3. Extensive knowledge of beverage preparation, mixology, and current industry trends.

  4. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  5. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle guest concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

  6. Proficient in bar and inventory management software systems.

  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and suppliers.

  8. Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.

  9. Knowledge of local licensing laws, alcohol regulations, and health and safety standards.

  10. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet the demands of the business.
