As a Laundry Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundry department. Your primary focus will be to ensure the efficient and effective processing of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry. You will lead a team of laundry attendants, ensure adherence to established procedures, and maintain high-quality standards to meet the needs of the hotel and its guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of laundry attendants to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of all laundry tasks.
  2. Train and mentor laundry staff on proper laundry procedures, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing, to maintain consistency and quality.
  3. Monitor laundry equipment to ensure it is in good working condition, and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and maintenance as needed.
  4. Enforce laundry procedures and guidelines to ensure proper handling and care of hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry, with a focus on cleanliness and presentation.
  5. Maintain a detailed record of laundry production, including the number of items processed, inventory levels, and linen exchanges with other departments.
  6. Collaborate with the Housekeeping and Front Office departments to fulfill guest requests and address any laundry-related guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  7. Inspect laundry items regularly to identify and address stains, damages, and excessive wear, ensuring only high-quality items are delivered to guests.
  8. Monitor and control laundry expenses, including the usage of detergents, water, and electricity, to meet cost-control objectives.
  9. Implement health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with all regulations to maintain a safe working environment for laundry staff.
  10. Stay updated on the latest laundry technologies, equipment, and industry best practices, and recommend process improvements and innovations.
  11. Provide performance evaluations and feedback to laundry attendants, recognizing achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
  12. Coordinate with the Assistant Laundry Manager or Laundry Manager to address staffing needs, scheduling, and employee-related matters.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a laundry supervisory or lead role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  2. Knowledge of laundry operations, including various fabrics, detergents, and laundry equipment.
  3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  4. Attention to detail and organizational abilities to ensure laundry tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  6. Understanding of health and safety regulations related to laundry operations.
  7. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the business demands.
  8. Proficient computer skills to maintain records and communicate via email or digital platforms.
