The Industrial Area Supervisor in a hotel is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations and maintenance of the hotel's industrial areas, such as laundry facilities, engineering departments, and other related areas. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, maintenance procedures, and health and safety regulations. The Industrial Area Supervisor reports to the Facilities Manager or Operations Manager and collaborates with various departments to ensure efficient and smooth operations within the hotel's industrial areas.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's industrial areas, including laundry facilities, engineering departments, and equipment maintenance. 
  2. Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, such as laundry machines, HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and other machinery. 
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment within the industrial areas
  4. Supervise and train industrial area staff, including technicians, maintenance personnel, and laundry employees. 
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and inventory levels. 
  6. Develop and implement emergency response procedures for industrial area incidents, such as equipment failures, power outages, or other emergencies. 

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in industrial equipment maintenance or related fields are preferred.

  2. Proven experience (usually 3-5 years) in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.

  3. Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.

  4. Familiarity with laundry operations, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other related areas within the hotel industry.

  5. Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team effectively and ensure high-quality work.

  6. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to address equipment failures or maintenance issues promptly.
  7. Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergencies outside regular working hours.
