Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Canteen Supervisor to join our team at Princess Hotels & Resorts Jamaica. The Staff Canteen Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our staff canteen, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen area.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and train canteen staff on food preparation, presentation, and service standards

- Create and maintain a weekly menu that offers a variety of healthy and delicious meal options for staff

- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for food and supplies as needed

- Ensure that all food items are stored, prepared, and served in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Maintain a clean and organized canteen area, including regular cleaning of all equipment, surfaces, and utensils

- Handle any customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner

- Conduct regular inspections of the canteen to ensure compliance with company and health department standards

- Manage scheduling and payroll for canteen staff

- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure that all dietary restrictions and special requests are accommodated

- Monitor and control food costs to ensure budget targets are met

- Stay updated on industry trends and make recommendations for menu changes and improvements

- Assist with special events and catering functions as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

- High School diploma or equivalent required, culinary or hospitality degree preferred

- Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role in a food service establishment

- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

- Excellent communication and leadership skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with inventory management systems

- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
