About the job Banqueting Porter
Job Responsibilities:
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions, menu items and preparation methods.
- Follow all Hotel Service Standards.
- Sets up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the banquet function space, pre-function space, and storage areas to include the carpet, walls, walks, doors, windows, heating/air conditioning units.
- Quickly and efficiently retrieves all materials needed for setup of banquet facilities, including those events outside of normal convention space.
- Provides prompt, courteous service to guests while maintaining a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
- Provides quality service to both internal and external guests, specifically maintaining established quality standards for timely banquet service.
- Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in all banquet service areas and for all banquet service equipment.
- Follows company standards of hospitality.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of banquet areas and keep banquet service areas properly stocked and cleaned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Requirements:
- Relevant Certification in the area.
- At least one year experience in the hotel industry.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essentials.
