Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and provide menus. Assist in seating arrangements to accommodate guest preferences and ensure an organized seating plan.
- Approach tables to take food and beverage orders from guests.
- Deliver orders to tables promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature of the dishes.
- Familiarize yourself with the hotel's menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods. Provide detailed information and make recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
- Be aware of common dietary restrictions and allergies to assist guests in making informed choices. Communicate specific requests or restrictions to the kitchen staff to ensure the safe and appropriate preparation of meals.
- Continuously monitor table cleanliness and ensure utensils, glassware, and tableware are clean and properly arranged. Reset tables efficiently to provide a welcoming environment for incoming guests.
- Maintain open communication and cooperation with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure the timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns or modifications.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction. If necessary, involve the restaurant manager or supervisor to resolve complex situations.
- Comply with hotel policies and procedures regarding personal hygiene and appearance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests and fellow workers
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment providing courteous service
- Previous experience working in hospitality industry preferred
Education and Experience Requirements:
- The flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
