About the job Wine Valet
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist guests in selecting wines based on their preferences and provide recommendations on wine pairings with their meals.
- Properly open and serve wines, including decanting and pouring, ensuring correct temperatures and appropriate glassware.
- Maintain a well-organized wine cellar or storage area, monitor inventory levels, and collaborate with the purchasing department to replenish stock as needed.
- Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
- Advise wait staff on available wines
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests and fellow workers
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment providing courteous service
- Previous experience working in hospitality industry preferred
Education and Experience Requirements:
- The flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
