Key Responsibilities:

Bar Operations Management:

  1. Assist the Bar Manager in daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.
  2. Oversee the bar staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  3. Monitor inventory levels of beverages, glassware, and other supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  4. Collaborate with the Bar Manager to develop and update bar menus, including creative cocktails, mocktails, and seasonal offerings.
  5. Maintain and enforce responsible alcohol service practices, ensuring compliance with local regulations and the hotel's policies.

Customer Service and Guest Experience:

  1. Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, interacting with guests and providing recommendations on beverages and pairings.
  2. Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a prompt and professional manner, resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
  3. Create a warm and welcoming environment for guests, ensuring a positive and memorable bar experience.
  4. Continuously monitor and assess guest feedback and reviews, taking proactive measures to improve service and address any areas of improvement.

Beverage Quality and Presentation:

  1. Ensure the quality and consistency of beverages, overseeing the preparation of cocktails, pouring of wine, and serving of other beverages.
  2. Maintain high standards of beverage presentation, including garnishes, glassware selection, and overall visual appeal.
  3. Stay updated with industry trends, mixology techniques, and new beverage products, incorporating them into the bar's offerings as appropriate.
  4. Collaborate with the Bar Manager and the culinary team to ensure beverage and food pairing suggestions are provided to enhance the overall guest experience.

Staff Training and Development:

  1. Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of bar staff, including conducting orientation sessions and ongoing training programs.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professionalism among the bar team.
  3. Encourage continuous learning and improvement, staying updated with industry developments, and sharing knowledge with the team.
  4. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize outstanding performance.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  1. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the bar area, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of beverages and supplies.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve any safety hazards or maintenance issues.
  3. Train staff on safety procedures, including responsible alcohol service and emergency protocols.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in a supervisory role within a bar or beverage service setting, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  2. Extensive knowledge of beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic options.
  3. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
  4. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  5. Proven experience in maintaining high-quality beverage standards and presentation.
  6. Ability to handle high-pressure situations, resolve conflicts, and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Knowledge of local liquor laws, responsible alcohol service practices, and health and safety regulations.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests, colleagues, and suppliers.
  9. Familiarity with bar inventory management, ordering systems, and point-of-sale (POS) software.
  10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the operational needs of the hotel.
