About the job Hotel Director of Operations
As a Hotel Director of Operations, the primary responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day operations of a hotel. The role is essential in ensuring that the hotel runs smoothly and efficiently, providing exceptional service to guests while maximizing revenue and profitability.
Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical leader who will join our senior management team. You will be responsible for leading the company's day-to-day business operations.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including all front of house areas, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure efficient and seamless operations.
Monitor and evaluate operational performance, implementing improvements where necessary.
Monitor the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and financial/cost reports. Initiate corrective actions where necessary.
Assist with budgeting and cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
2. Guest Experience:
Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction and work closely with the team to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Handle guest concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, seeking resolutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
Foster a guest-centric culture among staff and continually enhance service standards.
3.Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and inspire the hotel team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide guidance and support to department heads, assisting with staff training and development initiatives.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
4. Communication and Reporting:
Regularly communicate with the Managing Director, providing updates on operational matters, guest feedback, and team performance.
Collaborate with other departments and maintain open lines of communication to ensure effective coordination and problem-solving.
5. Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations and procedures.
Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any potential risks.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and /or Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in Hotel Operations Management at a senior level.
Strong knowledge of all hotel departments and their functions, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Proficient in budgeting and financial analysis.
Understanding of health, safety, and security regulations in the hospitality industry.
Note: The Director of Operations will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with other Division and Department heads to ensure operational excellence and an outstanding guest experience.
