About the job Bakers' Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the bakers in preparing doughs, batters, and other ingredients according to established recipes and procedures.
  2. Operate and maintain baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicers.
  3. Scale, shape, and portion dough for bread, pastries, and other baked goods.
  4. Decorate and garnish baked goods, such as cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, as instructed by the head baker.
  5. Assist in baking and monitoring the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized bakery area, including proper storage of ingredients, tools, and equipment.
  7. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of perishable items.
  8. Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in product quality and presentation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Understanding of food safety practices
  2. Experience with cake decoration techniques
  3. Excellent time-management skills
  4. Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  5. Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
  6. Flexibility to work in early morning shifts

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  2. Proven work experience in a similar role
  3. Certification from a culinary school is a plus
