The Room Service Supervisor reports to the Food and Beverage Manager or the Room Service Manager and collaborates with various departments to provide a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for hotel guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and supervise the room service team, including servers, order takers, and runners. Provide clear direction, delegate tasks, and ensure staff members adhere to established standards of service, professionalism, and hygiene.

  2. Service Delivery: Oversee all aspects of room service operations, including taking and delivering orders, setting up trays, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms. Monitor service quality, address guest feedback, and strive to exceed guest expectations.

  3. Possess a comprehensive understanding of the menu offerings, including food and beverage options, ingredients, and preparation methods. Train and guide staff members on menu knowledge and upselling techniques to enhance revenue generation.

  4. Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner. Assist with order taking, make recommendations, and handle special requests or dietary restrictions. Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.

  2. Previous experience (typically 2-3 years) in room service or a similar role within the hospitality industry.

  3. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and staff members.

  5. In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu planning, and service standards.

  6. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and room service software.

  7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  8. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  9. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling practices.
