About the job General Assistants/ Handy Man

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from various departments, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, furniture, fixtures, and other equipment.

  3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, replacing filters, and lubricating mechanical components.

  4. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and procedures to identify and address potential issues before they become larger problems.

  5. Repair or replace defective equipment, furniture, or fixtures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with relevant safety regulations.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to support their maintenance needs and ensure smooth operations throughout the hotel.

  8. Assist with general repairs, renovations, and improvement projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager or supervisor.


Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably within the hospitality industry.

  2. Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance techniques related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other building systems.

  3. Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as maintenance equipment.

  4. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively and implement appropriate solutions.

  5. Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance work.

  6. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

  7. Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

  8. Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.

  9. Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

  10. High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is a plus).
