Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Events Coordinator to join our team in Jamaica. The Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all events at our resort, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, coordinate, and execute all events at the resort, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings

- Work closely with clients to understand their event needs and preferences

- Develop event proposals and budgets, and manage event budgets throughout the planning process

- Source and negotiate with vendors to ensure the best prices and services for events

- Coordinate with other departments within the resort to ensure all event logistics are in place, including food and beverage, audio-visual equipment, and room set-up

- Oversee event set-up, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all details are executed flawlessly

- Manage event staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling

- Ensure all events meet the company's standards of quality and guest satisfaction

- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve event offerings at the resort

- Handle any issues or concerns that may arise during events, and provide timely and effective solutions

- Maintain accurate records of all event details, including contracts, invoices, and correspondence with clients and vendors

- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and attract new clients

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field

- At least 2 years of experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Proficient in event planning software and Microsoft Office

- Knowledge of Jamaican culture and customs is an asset

- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events require

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Proven track record of successful event execution
