The Evening Maintenance Supervisor in a hotel is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance operations during evening hours, ensuring the smooth operation of the property's physical infrastructure and systems. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the hotel's overall appearance, safety, and functionality for guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise a team of maintenance staff, assigning tasks and ensuring proper coverage to address maintenance needs during evening shifts.
  2. Prioritize and delegate maintenance requests, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  3. Perform regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
  4. Oversee the maintenance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other essential systems to ensure optimal functioning.
  5. Respond to urgent maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues, such as leaks, broken fixtures, malfunctioning equipment, and more.
  6. Coordinate repairs with maintenance team members or external contractors as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols related to maintenance tasks.
  8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inspections.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or trade qualifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and address maintenance issues.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with staff, contractors, and management.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols related to maintenance tasks.
  • Availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
