Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team at Princess Hotels & Resorts Jamaica. The Assistant Pastry Chef will assist the Pastry Chef in the preparation and production of all pastries, cakes, and desserts for the hotel.
The Assistant Pastry Chef will be responsible for:
Assisting the Pastry Chef in the preparation of cakes, pastries, and other desserts according to recipes.
Ensuring that all recipes are followed correctly and that all ingredients are of the highest quality.
Ensuring that all pastries and desserts are of the highest quality and presentation.
Maintaining a sanitary and safe working environment.
Assisting in the ordering of ingredients and supplies.
Assisting in the training and development of other pastry staff.
Ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
Assisting in the development of new recipes and ideas.
The successful candidate should possess:
A diploma or degree in pastry arts or a related field.
At least two years of experience in a pastry kitchen.
Knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
A creative and artistic eye for presentation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
An ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A passion for pastry and desserts.
