Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to join our team and oversee all aspects of event planning and execution at our properties in Jamaica. The Events Manager will be responsible for creating and coordinating a wide range of events, from corporate meetings and conferences to weddings and social gatherings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event planning, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute all types of events at our properties, including corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, and social events
- Liaise with clients to understand their event needs and provide customized proposals and packages
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and event partners
- Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses are within the allocated budget
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, audiovisual equipment, and accommodations
- Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of events
- Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring that all details are executed according to the client's specifications
- Provide on-site event management and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Maintain relationships with clients and vendors to ensure repeat business and positive word-of-mouth referrals
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our event offerings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting
- Proven track record of successfully executing a variety of events, from small meetings to large-scale conferences and weddings
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously
- Proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local event regulations and permits
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
