Job Responsibilities:


Restaurant hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming and organized environment for guests in the dining area. 

  1. Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive, provide a warm and friendly greeting, and assist in seating arrangements based on guest preferences and table availability.
  2. Reservation Management: Maintain an organized reservation system, record and manage guest reservations, and ensure accurate seating arrangements to minimize waiting times.
  3. Escorting Guests: Escort guests to their assigned tables, ensuring they are comfortable and have all the necessary items such as menus and utensils.
  4. Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the restaurant's menu, daily specials, and any dietary restrictions or allergies, in order to provide basic information and answer general questions from guests.
  5. Waitlist Management: Keep track of the waitlist during busy periods, estimate wait times, and communicate effectively with guests to manage their expectations.
  6. Maintaining Cleanliness: Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring tables are promptly cleared and cleaned after guests depart to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  7. Assisting with Guest Concerns: Address guest concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner, seeking assistance from supervisors or managers when needed, to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Following Health and Safety Guidelines: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper hygiene practices, sanitization protocols, and food handling guidelines.



Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for guests and fellow workers

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment providing courteous service

  • Previous experience working in hospitality industry preferred

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • The flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
