The Electronic and Automation Supervisor in a hotel is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic systems and automation technologies within the property. This position requires a strong technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, and automation systems. The Electronic and Automation Supervisor reports to the Engineering Manager or Director of Maintenance and collaborates with various departments to ensure the smooth functioning of electronic and automated systems throughout the hotel.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of electronic and automation systems within the hotel, including HVAC controls, lighting systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems, and other automated equipment. Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to electronic systems and automation technologies. Provide technical support and guidance to the Engineering team and other hotel staff members to address system malfunctions and minimize disruptions to guest services.
- Coordinate and assist with the installation, configuration, and integration of new electronic systems and automation technologies. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper implementation and adherence to project timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electronic systems, automation configurations, and maintenance activities. Generate reports on system performance, maintenance schedules, and equipment inventory.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Energy Management team to optimize energy usage and efficiency through the effective utilization of electronic and automation systems.
- Assist in the development of budgets for electronic and automation systems maintenance and upgrades.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic and automation systems.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team and other departments to address cross-functional issues and ensure effective communication and coordination. Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field. Relevant certifications in automation systems or electronics are a plus.
- Proven experience (usually 3-5 years) in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic systems and automation technologies, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic systems, automation technologies, and building management systems (BMS).
- Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing electronic and automation system malfunctions.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards related to electronic systems and automation.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software applications relevant to electronic and automation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
