About the job Laundry Maintenance Technicians
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's laundry department. Ensure that laundry services are provided in a timely manner and meet the quality standards set by the hotel.
- Coordinate and perform routine maintenance and repairs of laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding equipment. Schedule and track preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in the laundry department.
- Collaborate with the housekeeping department to understand laundry requirements and establish efficient workflows.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications in laundry operations, equipment maintenance, or related fields are preferred.
- Proven experience (usually 3-5 years) within a laundry department, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of laundry equipment maintenance and repair. Familiarity with various laundry machines and their operating principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to laundry operations. Understanding of chemical handling and storage requirements.
- Attention to detail and quality orientation to ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation of laundered items.
- Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with staff at all levels.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads and work in a standing position for extended periods.
