Job Description:
The System and Network Administrator is responsible for overseeing, managing, and maintaining IT infrastructure across multiple client environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, and a variety of firewall technologies, as well as a deep understanding of virtualization platforms, such as VMWare. Experience working with remote access tools, monitoring platforms, and ticketing systems is also required. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong capacity for working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain client network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies from vendors such as Cisco, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, HP, and Aruba.
- Manage and maintain server environments, both on-premises and in the cloud, using Windows Server (2008-2022) and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Support and administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure environments, including user management, group policies, and cloud-based services.
- Implement and maintain firewalls and VPN solutions such as Cisco AnyConnect, Meraki, SonicWall, and Fortinet to ensure secure remote access and data protection.
- Monitor, configure, and manage security protocols, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and anti-virus solutions.
- Work with clients to develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for system, network, and application issues.
- Use remote management tools to diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Administer VMWare environments, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual servers.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide effective IT solutions and support.
- Utilize ticketing systems such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, and ServiceNow to track, manage, and resolve support requests in an organized and timely manner.
- Ensure proper documentation of all configurations, troubleshooting efforts, and solutions in the ticketing system.
- Proactively monitor network and system performance, using monitoring tools to detect and resolve potential issues before they impact client operations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a System and Network Administrator, with a proven track record of installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and data center technologies.
- Strong proficiency in VMWare and other virtualization platforms, including virtual machine setup, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- Experience managing Windows desktop and server environments (20082022), with a strong understanding of patch management, updates, and system hardening.
- Proficiency with ticketing and remote management tools such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, ServiceNow, and other similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
