PLC/SCADA Controls Technician

Position Overview:

As a PLC Technician, you will play a vital role in implementing advanced automation technologies across high-profile data centers, manufacturing sites, and various industrial facilities. This role involves extensive travel, with up to 30% of the time dedicated to on-site project engagements. Youll bring expertise in platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, and similar systems, directly contributing to our clients operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Commissioning: Lead the startup and verification of PLC and DDC control systems, ensuring reliable performance and smooth integration.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with engineers, clients, and electrical teams to ensure seamless automation integration.
  • Documentation & Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate, detailed records of system operations and modifications, ensuring all documentation aligns with the project status.
  • On-Site Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to subcontractors, enforce quality control practices, and troubleshoot issues as they arise on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, or similar platforms (such as Inductive Automation Ignition, ICONICS).
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven background in PLC installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC control theory, electronics, and electrical circuits.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and proactively address challenges.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with DDC controls, Modbus, and BACnet protocols.
  • Familiarity with Tridium or other BAS control systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory and SAML 2.0.

Salary Range: $90,000- $120,000 per year depending on experience and a successful interview.
