We are currently seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technicians for service and project assignments within the 4-6 hour radius of where you live. Candidates must be comfortable with day or night shifts and willing to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time.

This role works primarily at Walmart stores to install new or upgraded fire alarm panels and associated devices, including CCTV and Access Control systems. The role requires expertise in installing commercial fire alarm panels and devices, along with strong troubleshooting skills.

Ideal candidates will be self-driven and dependable, capable of working independently and adept at problem-solving to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels according to building plans and electrical layouts.
  • Mount sensors at appropriate locations, including drilling holes for cabling and accessing crawlspaces or attics.
  • Ensure all work complies with current codes and regulations. Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  •  Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes.
  • Test newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices to ensure they are operational.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper functioning and compliance with local, county, state, or federal codes, and legal and/or insurance requirements.

Requirements:

  • NICET certification (Preferred, but not required)
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Current/valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
  • Experience with burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV is a plus
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting switches, WiFi, and routers
  • Certification to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, with the ability to work at heights
  • Basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  •  Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI in the last three years)
