As a Commercial HVAC Service Journeyman, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems and related mechanical equipment serving commercial and industrial facilities throughout the Charlotte, North Carolina region. Our company is a privately held HVAC service, controls, and datacenter installation provider serving commercial building owners and facility managers throughout the Charlotte area. This position is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong background in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure maximum equipment reliability, occupant comfort, and energy efficiency across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.
Essential Position Functions and Requirements:
- Candidates should be highly skilled in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems and familiar with the preventative maintenance, service, and operation of commercial building environmental systems.
- Extensive experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems including DX and Water Source Heat Pumps, Split Systems up to 100 tons, Packaged RTUs up to 100 tons with VAV capabilities, Water-Cooled Self-Contained Units with VFDs, Pumps, Cooling Towers, Exhaust Fans, and DDC Navigation Capabilities.
- Perform preventative maintenance programs focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to maximize operational performance, system longevity, and energy efficiency.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills in areas including, but not limited to: verbal, email, text, and social media, while effectively communicating findings related to maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- Satisfactory completion of background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report.
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team-based environment while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- Ability to adhere to standards for preventative maintenance and repair procedures associated with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- Close adherence to all safety requirements and proper use of appropriate PPE while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- Provide all necessary documentation and paperwork to the company and customers accurately in a timely manner. Ability to use and navigate Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
- 3-7 years of experience as a Commercial / Industrial HVAC Service Technician with demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- Support emergency service requests and participate in the weekly on-call rotation, utilizing expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to quickly resolve customer issues.
- Candidate will be required to participate in the weekly on-call rotation and work overtime/weekend hours as needed to meet job requirements while maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
Education and Training Requirements:
- High School diploma / GED Required.
- EPA/CFC Certified.
- Valid driver's license.
- All required certificates as described herein.

Compensation and Benefits:
- $33 - $42 per hour, depending on experience and a successful interview.
