Low Voltage Project Technician (Contract-to-Hire)

We are seeking experienced low-voltage project technicians for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing structured cabling and access control systems in commercial environments. Candidates should be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently to find solutions and complete projects efficiently. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling infrastructure.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling through concrete
- walls and limited conduit work.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers,
- mag locks, and electronic door hardware.
- Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
- Conduct tests to verify that all newly installed cabling systems and devices are fully
- operational.
- Troubleshoot cable network and access control system issues as needed.
Requirements
- Experience as a data cable technician.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting access control systems, including mag
- locks, card readers, and control panels.
- Availability for extensive travel.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for on-call, day, or night shifts as required.
- Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
- Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cabling infrastructure and color code identification.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights using boom or scissor lifts.
- Owns basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and has reliable transportation. Proficient with smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft
- Office.
- Experience with conduit installation is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last three years).
Compensation
$28 - $40 per hour, based on experience.
